oil change Civic SI 2013 1.8L?

The car is one year now, 34xx miles, over 50% oil life shown. I want to do the first oil change for it before driving a long distance (say 2,000 miles).
I did oil change for 3 times on a jetta, but not on a Civic. So I list my questions as follows, please let me have some insights.

I'm not sure which oil to use? 0w-20 or 5w-30? need to take off right front tire (1.8L engine)?
Before jacking up the car, do you disconnect the battery ? if so what's the resetting dashboard steps after reconnecting the battery?
3.9Qt oil for 1.8L engine? (my car is 4-cylinder, so should be 1.8L)
A new washer on the draining bolt? what type and where to buy it?
The draining bolt is 17 mm, right? is the oil filter 36 mm?
New oil filter? what's the tighten torque?

so a lot of questions. Any comment is welcome and appreciated.
 
If you have the si, you have a 2.4 liter engine. If you don't have the si, you have a 1.8 liter. They're both 4 cylinder engines. You should be going off the maintenance minder for oil changes at 15% per honda's recommendation. There is an entire section in the manual dealing with oil changes and the maintenance schedules. It is not based off miles driven. It is based on cold stars, rpms, and other factors that dictate when the oil should be changed.

webby, I think you are right in the 15% rule. but by my driving style, it will not hit that threshold very soon. my car was bought in April last year, the oil probably already takes black color, though it's only 34xx miles.
it's actually good if I don't have to change oil until I get to my new place. I was worried the car might fail me during the long trip because the oil has not been changed for so long, though it's not very likely to happen.

It looks like the tire does not need to be taken off, since the above article did not mention it. and it is not necessary to disconnect the battery either.

which brand is more popular, Castrol, mobil1, amsoil?
 
I would say mobil1 is the most popular, as it's one of the most readily available brands in most locations. A lot of users have had really great oil analysis results with mobil 1 for years and years. Amsoil is praised by a number of users as well, but it's not as common to purchase everywhere. It's also more expensive.

0W-20 is found on the manual for a 2.4L engine. This website sells "0W-20 Honda Synthetic Blend Motor Oil" for 5.93$ / qt. The link is here:

however it also says For Hybrid Models only, so it becomes confusing. is this oil good for 2013 Civic SI?

well my questions start to get dumb.
the answer is yes, according to their csr.
 
Any 0w 20 oil will work. No idea why they have it labeled like that
