They make a matte clear dip, you could use that and after you coat it, it will look like that matte blue.

You can buy plastidip by the gallon, which is probably what he did. For big projects like this, you definitely need the sprayer thing. Using rattle cans on large surfaces results in the zebra stripe effect.

Yup. He use to live less than 5 mins from me before he moved to Texas.

It's a matte finish. They also sell a "glossifier" to spray on last for a gloss finish.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. Not just "will it peel off", but whether it could be done in one grand sheet, or tiny, tedious pieces.
