I am thinking about removing my HFP Lip Kit for the winter because the roads here in Alberta are terrible. This seems pretty straight forward to remove but is there anything that I should keep in mind while I'm doing it? I barely even get to drive my car as it is and I was gonna buy a winter beater but 2000km in 5 months so far, it's not even worth it really. Does anybody have any Tips for me? Thanks

Where do you live?
 
I live in Red Deer, Alberta. Roads are way to bad, my lip kit will end up torn to hell if I dont remove it.
 
I wanna start seeing people in Canada put their cars on lift kits for the winter!
 
I would rather just take off the kit and not have to worry about anything for the winter. Just slap a set of 17" winters on it and everything will be fine.
 
I think ethlars suggestion is probably the most effective. Removing and reinstalling the kit will probably result in some damage not only to the lip but the areas on the bumper as well. It would definitely tear the paint up in those areas and I bet you would start to get paint flaking and chipping off, which would spread.
 
I'm pretty sure a hole is drilled on the rear bumper to get the lip installed.
 
The rear bumper isn't really a problem, it sits pretty high, its the side shirts and the front lip.

You definitely don't want to take the side skirts off. Parts of the paint on the car is scraped down to the metal in the wheel wells to apply the adhesive if I recall correctly.
 
I would leave it,removing may just screw it up,he is right about the paint removal( sound deadening),put some 16s with like 69 series on it,that will make it higher and I believe safe,winter screws with your car anyway,but removal I think is a big mistake!
 
I definitely would not remove the kit. You want to do this to protect your car, but youre going to end up damaging it more by doing this.
Perhaps you could protect the kit with a think coat of plastic dip and then you just peel off the plasti dip in the spring.
