Repairing Curbed Scuffed OEM Rims Yourself

Sorry If there's already a mega thread on this somewhere. If so, then can someone please link me to it?

My OEM driver side front rim on my 2015 EX was scratched by the dealership somehow. I know it wasn't me, but since I can't prove it, and I'm just now noticing this days later, I'm not going to take it back to them and will instead attempt to repair it myself.

I saw a repair kit online for $40, but I think I'd be fine and save money if I knew the exact grades of sand paper to use and a good can of clear coat. I don't think I need paint, because the inside of the scratches match the color of the outer rim, so I guess it's just unpainted metal, (not counting the black paint on the inner groves, which are undamaged.

Can anyone recommend me some correct sand paper types and clear coat? ...or show me a good thread where this may have already been thoroughly discussed?

Thanks in advance!
