The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby boy, Kensington Palace has announced.
The baby was delivered at 16:24 BST, weighing 8lb 6oz, it was announced in a press release.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh were "delighted at the news".
The news is now also expected to be displayed on an ornate easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace in line with tradition.

My teacher announced at class tonight that just because the royal baby was born didn't mean class was cancelled. And i was just like "what baby"? Lol
 
Royal baby: William and Kate name their son George


George had been the bookmakers' favourite for the first name of the prince who is third in line to the throne.The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their son George Alexander Louis, Kensington Palace has said.
They are currently at the duchess's family home in Berkshire, after spending a night at Kensington Palace.
The Queen, Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton were among the visitors to the palace.
