I did this today at Stafford Springs track in CT (0.5 mi track). I wasn't sure what to expect... it was AWESOME!

I first did a ride-along with a pro (800 hp car) for 3 laps. I then walked over and did 15 laps of me driving a slightly de-tuned car (600 hp car). I was doing so well that the spotter told me that I had great lines and that I must have done this before. (nope) I did keep hitting the rev limiter; dumb car wouldn't go faster. I'd get halfway down the straights and would be bouncing off of the limiter. The grip was AWESOME, power was on point as well.

In short, do this sort of activity, such a blast. I highly recommend.
I'll be doing a 50 lap event soon. :rockwoot:

(at 1:15, I did not get nervous, the spotter told me to "lift and left" basically get out of the way of the pro giving a ride)

If you dont mind me asking, how much did it cost to do? It looks like a blast!

got it as a gift. But was purchased through AAA for ~$125 for 10 laps. You need to buy insurance for $60. I bought 5 additional laps for $50 and the 3 lap pro ride along for $50

Money well spent.

The instructor in the classroom said that when you hit the rev limiter, you're at 120 mph. I hit that halfway down the straights so I believe he was telling stories. Just didn't seem that fast. I think I heard the pros telling someone that their car gets to 120 and they were far faster. Regardless, it was a blast

That's cool, I've always wanted to do something like that! It's ashame they are so limited though, I want to hit the 200mph club so bad! Fastest I've been is 155 in a car and 175 on a bike down the parkway.
 
I'm sure there's a lot of us that would like to experience something like that. Thanks for sharing yours!

very cool! I'm guessing the noise coming down the straight is when you're hitting the rev limiter lol?

yeah. Really wish they would allow my car to go faster LOL
 
Close friend of mine did this last summer. Said they kept yelling at him for driving too fast.
 
I did the stock car racing experience at Pocono raceway. 600hp cars I had the instructor for a few laps then was solo but I pissed them off/impressed them that one of the instructors went home and got his 800hp arca racecar and let me drive it..
 
haha. If I ever do this sort of thing again, it'll be on a super speedway where confirmed speeds are 160ish
