denty......lol. sorry i had to put out a bunch of fires this afternoon. meetings with hr which i just made a mockery off. lulz to be had when i am involved with HR
 
none, i do not have that power. i did however et permission from HR to search anything on the factory floor for messing units. which before i never had the power to do. Since i am responsiable for inventory and having missing units on the floor i need to be able to search everywhere. i truly hope i can catch a theif, i will then have power to fire some dumbass.
 
Like employees are stealing stuff while producing it?
 
i cant prove it yet, but we have had some missing units come up that can not be found for some strange reason. I have not lost a unit in 8 years of keeping track of inventory. i refuse to let it start up now.
 
can you explain "unit" ? Is that the equivalent to a TON of product, or 1 wearable item, or?
 
1 unit can be a 1 jacket or 1 pair of pants. Retail value of currrent missing unit is 1100 bucks, whole sale half that. When i called a meeting two weeks ago with supervisors there were two pairs of pants missing. An hour after the meeting 1 pair showed up out of the blue. This leads me to believe theft is happening now.
 
Do people have to go through like a loss prevention area to leave work? I've worked in places where everyone was essentially given a pat down prior to leaving the building for any reason. If you had a bag/purse/backpack etc - they all had to be searched as well.
 
no we do not have this, we do provide lockers and we will be making sure that bags and personal items will not be allowed on the floor any longer. I will be tomorrow ripping the entire floor apart as well as doing full inventory in a few weeks where we count all the units on the floor. i will do a complete audit of the units and go from there. i can not handle theives at all.
 
Sleepy is going to rip that place apart! Maybe the person already took a pair... but if not, maybe they'll show up tomorrow (if they know someone is going to be searching lockers etc)

Do you guys give incentives for anyone turning others in for theft or whatever? Had that at a workplace as well. One gave kickbacks to employees if theft #'s were below quota etc. Maybe doesn't make sense, if you guys haven't had theft issues in the past though..
 
my employees are pretty money driven and i am sure if the dollar amount was enough they would throw their co workers under a bus given the chance. I did think of that but since theft has yet to be proven and i have done such a good job up until now i will leave that as a playing card for the future.
