I have a '12 Si and live in Connecticut. How is the Si in the snow with the Michelin Pilot HXMXM4 tires. Should I invest in snow tires (probably the Michelin x-ice) or should I get new all seasons? I am almost ready for tires anyway so I am considering snows for my stock set. How is the car in snow with the HXMXM4?

I had a '12 Si with the same stock tires. I dealt with them for one winter before I bought a dedicated set of 16" steelies and Bridgestone Blizzak WS70s. The stocks were fine the first year. After than, I couldn't get up hills and they would spin a lot. It was pretty difficult to drive in any snow once they wore down a bit. Actually, the stock tires probably lasted me a max of 15,000 miles. God, I hated those tires haha. We get a ton of snow here, though. Some of the highest in the nation...ugh lol :surrender:

Agreed, stock tires were the worst! I actually got mine to last a little past 20k which was a shock

I live in CT we get a good amount of snow. It's been inconsistent every year. Has anyone run the Michelin? I want either Michelin or blizzaks not sure yet.

Thank you! I was curious as to how they are. I've never had snows I had an 08 accord last winter which was a tank and I hear the Si is no where near as good in the snow.

Using snow tires makes a huge difference in winter driving compared to all season tires. You will wonder why you didn't switch sooner.

The stock tires are average in snow at best. For CT winters you would be best served by a winter tire. With a good all season and the front drive of the Civic you can get by with a good all season however.

i just ordered Toyo Gerit KX winter tires for my '13 Si stock rims (215/45/17) Cant wait to try them out on some icy roads. These will be my first ever set of winter tires!!

Should be in more places too! I hate watching other people almost crash into me because they are running around on worn out all seasons in 4" of snow. Or should I say 10cm of snow!
Don't humor those that are not users of Freedom Units!
