I like a "horror " movie if it has an unique/interesting angle, like Sixth Sense, Ultimate Destiny (the first one), and Saw.
I prefer thrillers though, especially if the movie has religious overtones or is in a Sci-Fi setting. In my top 10 would be movies like Devil's Advocate, The Seventh Sign, Angel Heart, The Alien Series, Predator ....

My personal favorites are the Nightmare on Elm Street series, In The Mouth of Madness, Evil Dead/Army of Darkness, The Others, Event Horizon, Urban Legend, and Gremlins.

Devil's Advocate is definitely a great movie. I don't consider it horror, but it is one of my favorites in general.
