Squiggy's 2012 DBP II Si Coupe

Thinking of ordering some Truhart shocks/struts since I am going to be tearing the suspension apart to find out what is causing the popping sound and will need an alignment afterwards. I cannot get over the cost. They even have a lifetime warranty.
 
Why not just struts with the H&R that you have?
 
Don't the truhart springs give 2" drop?
 
My mistake. I quickly skimmed through and read 'spring/struts'.
 
Dropping any more would probably be an issue the the wheel/tire setup about to go on.
 
Are you going to go on some drives with us down the Dragon this year? Instead of doing the "tourist" thing? :giggle: :hiding:

I did a couple of drives a day on The Dragon last year. We just skipped out on some of the other drives.

Definitely plan on doing more group drives this year though.
 
I would try the truharts in the front but put some Konis in the rear. They just bolt in and the rears are pretty dang cheap. Plus with the adjustable damping on the Koni you can turn them up a bit and get some better rotation. Stiff in the rear, soft in the front. Helps fight the understeer. On some of the tighter Dragon curves you can definitely get the rear to skitter a little and come around pretty quick.

You seriously won't notice any of those "handling" changes until you are at the limits. I never felt any of the stuff they talk about until we were on the skyway doing 80. Liftoff oversteer is scary as F on the side of a cliff.

A bit of understeer isn't bad if it happens "on throttle" cause you can just back off slightly until you regain grip.


Go hit some auto-x events too! They should be getting underway shortly. Check the local SCCA pages and see if they don't have a beginner session/school event.

Labor and toolkit for the Konis too..... I like mine a lot. I wish it had been cheaper though! I honestly think the HFP kit is one of the best setups Ive driven on. My wifes car is very comfortable still but it sticks pretty well.

Doing the fab work is no big deal and I am always up for expanding the tool collection. Of course, I could probably borrow what I need from a neighbor if I don't have it.
