Summer tires

I have been running Dunlop Direzza DZ101s. Decent but not great. Very inexpensive right now at about $90/ea from tirerack. They did last pretty long though.

Currently shopping for tires. I'm considering Dunlop Z2 or Bridgestone RE-11A.

Are you looking for new summer high performance tires or new all seasons?

You can also bump up to a 225/45/17 on the stock wheel and get more grip over the stock 215 sizing.

I was going to say Michelin Pilot Super Sports in stock or 225/45. Amazing tire, depending on how you want to spend

I am using the Mich Pilot SS's, I like them but won't buy them when replacing! Tread wear is to low. I need a 400 because I don't drive hard. I am so suprised how cheap tires are for this car! Here in Houston you tires are cheap as hell...

I got a set of 215/40 18 Hankook Ventus V12s late last summer. They were a great price and I'm happy with them so far. I'm running on winters right now so I can't speak to the long term wear.

I am thinking about summer tires, but I would have to get rid of my all seasons first.

I was reading that the Continental DW tires (not DWS) are very good, have a high tread rating, and $114 I believe in 225/45

Re-11 in 225 width they were on tirerack clearance because it was the old compound. I hear the bfg rivals are the new hotness this year with auto crossers. I love it but makes u park the car for winter.

Yeah, the RE-11 has been replaced by the RE-11A. There's are few good comparisons out between the top tires right now. The BFG is a great tire but has the lowest tread depth of any of them at only 7/32 which is the bare minimum for SCCA autox. The new Dunlop Z2 has 9/32 and I think the bridgestone is either 9/32 or 10/32. Quite a bit more tread depth.

Great thread here: The last couple page have more recent info from 2012/2013

I have BFGoodrich Sport COMP2 summers on mine. Love them and they are wearing nicely.

Contental DW's Love them minus the softish sidewall but mine are 2 years old and I hear they changed them up a little and made the sidewalls stiffer...
