Sunofwolf Random Banter Containment Thread

For us most of the time a judge will take the officers side over yours. I paid 150 for a lawyer to get the improper equipment charge and 200+ for the court cost but I have 0 points on my license and I am saving lots of money each month with the 0 points.

the judge will all ways side with the cop, but using expert witness documents and actual physical stuff. This will show a legal out for the ticket. Not me just saying something-that will not win. :bricks::rolleyes::shady: Back to other things

The judge here will ask you if you have brakes and therefore you would have no reason to go over the speed limit. And they would not take a picture of a car part it would have to be a receipt showing the work is complete from an ASE technician.

That pic is only to show the cable was bad when I was driving it., I will have a receipt from ase technician that it was fixed. and a letter saying the cable was sticking. The brakes won't work effectively when working against the engine, it takes time to slow a car going like that and that is what I was doing. But good point, I have to come up with a good response in case a judge asks that question. It may take a shocked driver a few secs to start using the brakes that's me to bring the speed down. I never stopped slowing down after the cable was stuck and pulled over on the shoulder of the road as soon as possible -the brakes and tires were all smoking. I did some more research on this and this is not really that rare of thing to happen. It's actually a common problem in dodges, they all have the same basic setup. The car was in the driver seat not me for about ten secs, give the ticket to dodge because they never did anything to fix it. Well sounds like you more nastier judges than even here. Don't think I want to drive in NC except to keep going. My answer would be the brakes don't work effectively when working against the engine which is 100% true. Try it sometimes-hold the throttle open and with the other foot hit the brakes-use two feet that is actually what rare car drivers sometimes do. I was also going to bring real examples of what happen to other people when the throttle got stuck some died.:omg::paper: I would not fight this speeding ticket if my throttle cable was working-it wasn't so give the ticket to dodge- a little harsh there as the cable lasted 108k miles.:shadyhat:

aaa driving course say frayed throttle cable sticking is a vehicle problem not driver problem. Same thing if you lose your brakes-vehicle problem not driver problem. Right there what ever driver did was not causing speeding. underline cause of speeding vehicle problem if throttle cable is frayed causing speeding. ticket goes to vehicle not driver. Exactly what I am proving. Certified ase Mechanic confirmed the cause- frayed throttle cable wouldn't close throttle body cutting off gas to the engine.:bananapoke::badger: I am taking the aaa course right now.

He would tell you, why did you not apply brakes and move to the side of the road? Put your car in neutral, shut the car off, why did you not properly PMCS your vehicle. I am sure it will be easier to go in and ask for sympathy and a reduction of speed to only pay for court cost or ask the DA for an improper equipment.

  • I did exactly that applied brakes and stop on the side of the road and it was the first time the throttle cable revving up the engine. I told the cop had a mechanical problem-the throttle was only temp stuck, it got worse when I drove the car back to the garage-I didn't make it, the car engine came close to blowing up at a gas station. The car should have been towed. I never had a car ever fail like this except for a gas peddle stuck. Did you look at the pic of the cable its frayed not broke, it would work as long as you didn't give the car a lot of gas and then seem like it was working, it was like someone booby trapped the car. And I am suppose to figure all this out in a few seconds? It was like ET took over the car. I think your making much more complicated then it is. When it happened I did not know why the car kept speeding after I let off the gas. the car went into boost mode hard and scared me even though it was exciting and fun till my brain said hey the car is out of control-hit, by then my next nightmare the fuzz. Vehicle problem. Win or lose I fight any ticket. Now let me get back to my AAA safety course:pinkdomokundance: Pope of motor Vehicle also say bad throttle cable - is a Car problem not driver problem. the cops have turned into buzzards. :face-puke:

Half way though aaa driving course soon I will have the gold star diploma for being a safety nut Honda driver. I adj my headrest up one inch . I also notice the honda spare tire is also part of the crush zone, I am not currently carrying it, but will if I go on more than a hundred mile trip, the limit of my towing insurance. aaa says seat belt takes 3.5 secs, I think it takes me at least 4 secs. Blue 2001 neon now has AS niokia tires on, these tires look excellent. Later on the Honda gets brand new Michelin 3* plus AS can't wait to try those might be the best AS in the world rated for 185mph that means they are balanced extremely well , Y tires. SRT-4 is sad right now sitting in doctors office till comes back to life with new throttle cable and winter battery installed.:guitar::corndance:

Some not all Honda dealer's not doing recalls on defective exploding airbags on older Honda's ,so check it yourself. I wouldn't bring my car to a honda for any reason not under recall for anything.

good info, looks like the 2013 civic is ok,. Never no why other than cost they would use a unstable explosive. As the air bag becomes old the tiny charge becomes unstable:hmmm?:

Takata made the airbags. They made airbags for countless auto brands, so it's not a "honda" issue.

Vehicles made by 19 different automakers have been recalled to replace frontal airbags on the driver’s side or passenger’s side, or both in what NHTSA has called "the largest and most complex safety recall in U.S. history." The airbags, made by major parts supplier Takata, were mostly installed in cars from model year 2002 through 2015. Some of those airbags could deploy explosively, injuring or even killing car occupants.

At the heart of the problem is the airbag’s inflator, a metal cartridge loaded with propellant wafers, which in some cases has ignited with explosive force. If the inflator housing ruptures in a crash, metal shards from the airbag can be sprayed throughout the passenger cabin—a potentially disastrous outcome from a supposedly life-saving device.

NHTSA has determined the root cause of the problem: airbags that use ammonium nitrate-based propellant without a chemical drying agent. As postulated early on, environmental moisture, high temperatures, and age as associated with the defect that can improperly inflate the airbags and even send shrapnel into the occupant.

It is expected that the inflator recall will impact more than 41.6 million vehicles in the U.S., involving 56 million inflators.

not a honda issue -well its in their car-I would say it is a honda problem for not checking the air bag:spazface: device them self's. Now that's what the judge in NC would say:rotfl: That' Nazi judge I keep hearing about that wants to blame a car problem on a poor driver scared out of his mind when it goes out of control for a few very fast secs. I can't help myself:stickpokesmiley::paper:

Maine town is firing the police department-not worth the $350,000 for three cops and a part time chief. I guess not the only one pissed off about tickets.:turbobananapoke:

passed my aaa driving course today-got a 85, you need a 80 to pass. Good enough for a $60 off my current insurance and now I got the max safe driver credits -7. Sent in the speeding ticket contested-don't know my court date yet. :excited: Sure Glad that over with, not too hard but really long.
