This is the future of our Nation

Unfortunately, as in many other fields, there are people who don't belong there.

I absolutely agree that it's a teacher's job is to get as many kids interested in learning as possible. Laziness will not accomplish that.

Good for that guy for telling it like it is. Unfortunately, it probably only earned him retaliation from the school administration.

He makes some good points. He does need to cut the mop though, it's cramping his style.

As an old peep........ I see the light that comes from the constant exposure to cell phone cameras, where this kid speaking his mind would normally have gone no further than a so called "out-burst" from a student in class. It is changing the way people get their points to the world. As long as it's something we all can gain from, I'm all for it.
The responding sound of the teachers voice is a perfect example of what the kid was saying, I can't think of anything that sounds more boring than that if I was in her class. She certainly illustrated what he was trying to get across to her.

So what's gonna' happen now? ..nothing.
We're all stuck in a downward spiral that'll never change.

I'm a teacher. Be careful not to judge too quickly. Don't get me wrong, I certainly do not condone lazy, unenthusiastic teachers. This student seems to make a valid point, however we don't know the context of the situation, nor do we have the other side of the story. For all we know, this may have all been staged with a friend recording it. I'm probably wrong, but it never ceases to amaze me in this profession how people can jump so quickly to a conclusion before hearing all of the facts from both sides.

Not judging anyone specifically, plenty of teacher friends of mine are great people. Just giving an opinion on the current state of our nation. Sorta' hard to stay optimistic these days.

A post from Yahoo:
Right before the video, Jeff raised his hand to ask the teacher a question about the topic. He asked her to clarify it because he didn't understand it fully. She then told him to stop b---h-ing.

I know a bunch of teachers since I spent my 1st year of college in a University known for its teaching degrees.

So what's gonna' happen now? ..nothing.
We're all stuck in a downward spiral that'll never change.
So you're a teacher? ............ :D

That's the spirit(or lack of) that will drag this Country down to the haves and have nots......... This isn't the 1st time this attitude has challenged the hearts of man, and won't be the last, this Country we live in now is going to have a lot of problems in the near future, and may have to be rebuilt from the ground up, but it will come full cycle as history has proven over and over again............... but the improvement will come from ppl that have a positive out look, and care about humanity.

Why do all these young people sign up for the military? To reap the benefits of losing their arms and legs, or their lives, I think not.

If you honestly think we'll see some sort of turnaround, then I commend you, and am green with envy. Sincere.

Actually, it starts with the understanding that there's a problem, it will take that frame of mind to "want" to do something about it.
Boston Tea Party/Revolutionary War/War between the states. Did you know that most of the ppl that signed the Declaration of Independence met their demise afterwards with their life and or property/status. Now we have ppl that think we need to ignore/change our Constitution.
I think a lot of our teachers have seen what you see, that it's like pissing in the wind to do the "right" thing. That's the 1st step in bringing down a Nation, re-education of our future generations....... Remember Hitler?

We don't know if this young man had an attitude problem and has shown defiance in the past towards other teachers. We don't know if the teacher's husband just left her/died, or she is feeling no energy because she has the beginnings of cancer going through her body. We don't know if she has dedicated 25 years to the profession and is highly recognized teacher who is having a burn out. We don't know if the teacher has worked several hours of her weekend to provide high quality personalized course sheets that she knows will enable students to be highly prepared for an extremely important exam that they must pass to get their diploma. We just don't know enough about the situation.....call me naive, but I always try to give the benefit of the doubt and don't like passing judgement too quickly. I've seen this happen to colleagues and it's brutally unfair how good teachers can get raked over the coals before they have even had a chance to speak.
