Unofficial Nissan GT-R Video Lapping The Ring In 7:21 Seconds

The video is on the youtube channel "NISSANGTRJP"

The plot thickens around the latest Nissan GT-R Nürburgring video. As you may have heard, a clip showing the supercar lapping Green Hell in 7:21 flat has hit YouTube. The only problem is that Nissan is claiming that the company doesn't know a thing about it. According to The Truth About Cars, the Japanese automaker has confirmed that the GT-R was at the Nürburgring for testing in October as part of preparations for the release of the 2012 model, but the company says that there was no official attempt to break any record.

Official or not, the footage shows the GT-R clipping around the track 4.22 seconds faster than the last record attempt in October of 2010. It's no secret that Nissan has made it a goal for the vehicle to be able to lap the infamous road course in 7:20, but as of right now, it appears that the company isn't any closer to actually making that become a reality.

Meanwhile, they're still behind a few of their competitors.

7:12:13 Dodge Viper ACR (2010)

7:14.64 Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package

7:18 Porsche 911 GT2 RS

7:19.63 Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1 (2012)

which is why I'd guess they're acting like this never happened. They'll probably make more runs to squeeze a few more seconds off the run time. Or try to
