Vacation Thread

Just left Santo Domingo airport. On the Delta flight to Atlanta before Baltimore.

I'm in the air!! Haha :giggle:

Sounds like the "system" that Argentina has had for 30 years or so. Private companies have a few cars with drivers and they get called up at the main office and the office dispatches the available drivers that are waiting around or just dropped someone off. They work certain locations out of the city. Basically uber without the app.

They are so common that the drivers become regulars and sometimes long time friends. My aunt would call up the local company that was a couple blocks away and ask for the same one or two drivers all the time for many many years.

Ask my wife's friend and her husband.... We were invited on this trip for her friend's 40th birthday. Guess they had to get back to their kids and work? Only could take off Sunday-Friday. :shrug:

Yeah. The pay phone and the humpback whale mural is my favourite so far.

Went to the butcher today and bought some carne molida ( ground beef ) felt really cool ordering it in Spanish and then using my phone for the amount. Wanted 1/2 pound ( 500g ) and I wrote 500 kg or 1000 lbs. Thankfully the butcher knew I was an idiot and gave me 500gs. But used his bare hands to take the ground beef to get it to weight 500g.

So we're having meat sauce pasta tonight. Haven't got sick yet. Wish us luck .have a snorkel tour tomorrow.
