What is the Most Screwed Up Thing About Your State?

I mean, they're not wrong about that... hahahaha.... yes, moving to Kentucky should prove to be very different. I'm quite looking forward to it.

Upstate NY and probably all over - The amount of ridiculous rules on everything! I live 5 minutes from Lake Ontario and I can't go in the water cause there is no lifeguard. The police actually patrol and yell at everyone who steps foot on the beach not to touch the water unless they want trouble. Also don't try and walk out on the pier unless you want a lecture, then you can go. Oh and you shouldn't be here at this time of day, why arent' you in school/work, you must be up to no good, lemme see some identification.

Things that get the police to talk to you:

Lake Ontario - No swimming, no fishing, no playing in the sand, no nothing!

Genesee river - No fishing, swimming, kayaks or canoes, riding bikes on the bike path faster than 5mph, running if people are walking on the paths, existing within view of another person

Downtown - Going to a restaurant to spend money. Come back to a parking ticket. I think they seriously come around and plasti-dip the curb red once you park and then peel it off. I mean come on... who puts a parking meter in the middle of a no parking curb area?

Sheesh I go to anywhere else, and if you can get to the water you can go in.

Get stopped for:

Tint, rims, clean car, dirty car, driving to work, driving home from work, being anywhere and under 50yrs old, being alive, speeding, driving the speed limit, changing lanes, signaling, not being in jail already, not having gotten a ticket in a while, and so on..

It just seems like no matter where you go in this state there is a rule you are breaking and someone there to tell you so.
Quebec = Freedom
Ex. During the "national" holiday/party people drink in the streets anywhere they want. Police are out in force to, get this, .....hand out plastic cups to those people stupid enough to walking around with glass bottles. The freedom here is beautiful. It helps to make us forget that we are probably the highest taxed place in all of North America.

Canadians scare me. Especially if they're school teachers, drive a blue Civic and are named Paul.

We like our animals in Washington - apparently a little too much? My little town shuts down for a couple of days for a fun festival. We watch fish in a creek. Uh huh.

See...
