@ADExternal I tried wiring pin 1 and 3 to power in and pin 2 to power out and still no luck. I wonder if the pin layout is different since my switch is different?

Break it down into 3 steps.
Wire Pin 1/2 between/in the circuit you want to turn on and off
Wire Pin 3 to Pin 2 wire if you want the switch to be brighter when turning it on. Your switch may or may not come with an additonal bulb for pin 3 and does not need to be wired aka optional.
Wire Pin 4/5 to any other switches with illumination ie Econ, VSA, emer button. They will have two wires for illu. Doesnt matter which pin goes to which wire as long as its wired in a parallel manner, Pin 4 to A, Pin 5 to B or Pin 4 to B, Pin 5 to A

Here is my layout for the switch with notes for you that I made and used a while back for my illumination kit I did. I think this is the first time I uploaded this and will put it on my Build Thread Front page after this post.

Ignore the other pins for now, just work with Pin 1 and 2 to get your lights working.

All that being said, If I had to guess, I would check your ground. Good luck.

It still works when it's on automatically. And the fuse is still good. Gunna try the wiggle plug method now but I have 4 ways to wire it to test it out... your way and reversed if the switch is upside down and @ADExternal way and reveresed
 
It could be the same, the orientation might just be different. Pauls layout puts everything together as a finished product to the way he wants it. My layout lets you install depending on what you want to do each circuit.

Got them working!!!! I had to move the green plug around to make the connection. Now I need to secure the green plug properly and make the light in the switch stay on. So I need to wire pins 4 and 5 right? Do I wire positive to 4 and ground to 5? Or positive to both?

depends on when you want the button to light up. I could tell exactly how to do everything but it might not be what you want.

I want the light in the actual switch to stay on all the time when the switch is getting power (ignition on)
 
HUGE THANKS to @Pauly99to17, @323 and especially @ADExternal for all your help in trouble shooting this magic switch that has been a pain in my :unicorn: the past few days. If only I knew the switch for 2013 civics were a different size from the 2012s... At least it's working now!! :woowoo: :turbospin:

I don't know what I would've done without you guys!!
 
Like Pauly said, the green plug has some wiggle room, so I tape a small piece of cardboard (the size of the piece in my hand) to the plug. And there is no connection problem anymore!

And I have everything wired up to an add a circuit in slot 6 (power windows) because unlike slot 35 it's on as long as ignition is on. Only reason I did this is because I have my amps remote turn on connected to the same circuit. Here a shot of the ridiculously oversized switch in its slot. It'll have to do until I can order the proper size.

So it was the green plug eh? Glad you got it working. Wedge a piece of plastic/ cardboard etc. to get the plug to stay at the correct angle. EDIT: I see you already gave. Perfect.

The button is always lit the way I have it wired. Seems like you are the first person with a 2013+ to add this switch button. WTF would they change the button size? I don't get it.

Yes and no. The green plug wasn't connecting properly and my wiring was wrong. Once I had more time to look the wiring over I messed around with the green plug and got everything working.

I KNOW!!! They re did the interior but WHY IN THE WORLD DID THEY NEED TO CHANGE THIS ONE LITTLE THING!?!?!?! If i can find the new part number I'll be a happy camper. As long as they didn't change the wiring for the new switch too lol

Different sizes explains everything. I was starting to wonder if you didn't quite understand the concept of how to fit the rectangular button in the rectangular slot. Haha
