Since I am running in a stock class, I'm limited into what I can do. I have all the OEM Group N mounts (engine, tranny, pitch & shifter). I also have SPT strut tower and lower chassis brace. Whiteline sway bars.

I'm going to be a good boy and wait awhile before I do any serious mods. At least 2yrs.

Heres the video from this past weekend. I have to really work on my braking. I overshot several corner entries. Match Tour Wilmington
turn in on the cones in the slalom and offsets (don't turn at the cone). Doing so will make the car dance through the slalom and will be faster. The big sweeper, you can get a lot closer. Braking is more important than acceleration as if you cook the turn, you lose at least a second (or two) to recover.

Here is my run from sunday on a small tight course. Overall, I came in 7th of 110 cars. 2014 Ford Fiesta ST. My only event with this club with #19. I changed it to #93. why? cause I wanted to.

I made it down here to the Tail of the Dragon today, weather is perfect, got in a bunch of traffic free passes (going in the middle of the week rules!).

Came down with a couple of buddies, one drives a Civic Si and the other a Focus ST, I kind of felt like the odd man out with my Mustang but made the best of it (as best as it can be with a 3600 - 3700 lb. car).
Those Si's and ST's can flat scoot on the TOD!

I made a 'ghetto' camera holder (out of PVC pipe) that fit onto the headrest of my car, the vid is pretty shaky but did the best I could with my $89 Canon Power Shot A3300.

I've got one more day and then I have to head back home.

P.S. I seen exactly zero LEO's today, that is a first.
This place was crawling with LEO's last time I was here.

I'm back home now, had a great trip.

Yesterday my buddies and I switched cars and I got to drive a Civic Si for the first time, this was quite an eye opener.
Long story short, the Si is about twice as fun to drive on the TOD as my Mustang.

Then I got to drive the Focus ST, same story, both of these cars are just flat out fun to drive, the Si seats are the best I've ever seen, I like them even better than the Recaro's that I've sat in, they have support, but I could still live with them on a daily basis, just my opinion though.

I had two genuine saves from my radar detector yesterday (Redline - rdr off, pop off, tsr off, x on, k on and all Ka bands on), I was on my way back to my hotel in Alcoa, TN and had just came off the dragon and was traveling on 129 north by the water where the speed limit increases 30 mph to 40 mph.
I was tired and not paying attention to my speed when the detector went off for just a second or two, being in the middle of BFE with not much around I took the warning seriously and hit the brakes hard, a bit later a sheriff comes in view and samples my car, by that time I was under 40 mph.
After he passed I sped up again and the detector goes off again (WTF!?) so I hit the brakes again, sure enough here is a THP running Ka c/o, I was never so glad to have that detector as I was in that 5 minute space of time, probably came close to paying for itself when considering the potential insurance increase and fine, not to mention the overall hassle.

All in all, can't wait to go back again!

The 05+ Mustangs handle pretty well with suspension mods, they have some a long way, and there's lots of parts out there for them. They're turning into good project cars now.

Ah don't feel too bad, I'm in the heavyweight car club too. (LGT weighs ~3500 without my fatass) It's all good though I make it work.

That is a tight course, and perfect for that FST. I'm still learning where STi fits on the track. I have to change the FSB as well and will see how it works next event. everything should be all dialed in by the time it meets the dragon.

on my wrx, I started with the common theme on nasioc, RSB. I couldn't get through a slalom or fast sweeper without the backend deciding to go first. I swapped ams went FSB only and I immediately got very fast.
