I have a 14 si with navi so im assuming i have the premium system
Yes, all the Si models have premium sound. If you want to do it right, so it sounds good, you need to remove the factory amp, replace it with an aftermarket amp compatible with differential balanced inputs, and buy new speakers and a new sub (one that is in a box, not a free-air in the deck). The factory amp has built-in crossovers for all channels, so that is why the sound is so bad. Also, that is why you should not use an LOC or take the signal after the amp because it is not a full range signal. You can review this thread for more info:

It sounds way better going pre amp, but it HOnEStLy is reasonable going from the sub... I have done both, but had help going pre amp, someone needs to do a diy for pre amp and settle this for everyone!
