Doing a TSX Retro involves doing alot more work. Cutting and fitting is involved. The minis are made to fit inside the reflector housing and thread through the bulbs hole to attach. The TSX projector would require the reflector housing and fit the projector in and attach it while keeping it...

What type of bulbs go into these? I think the main problem you might run into is making a shroud extension(if needed). Everything else is pretty straight forward from what I have seen/heard.

It's def going to cost you more than the $1500 your thinking, even after re-selling parts. Sell the car on your own to make the most money out of it and get into an Si, better in the long run and you get more upgrades than just the 6spd trans.
