I've had my Civic for about a month now and I really like the car except for the center console armrest. There doesn't seem to be any padding in the armrest. I have the SE model and I'm wondering if any of the other models have better padding or is there another solution other than having it reupholstered.

Reupholster and add your own padding. I did it in my 2012 and it wasn't too hard. I actually need to redo it as its starting to get worn.

I use a micro cloth as a throw cloth, more comfy and after 3 years no wear...... So what I'd suggest is new pad and reupholster.... then keep a micro on the finished product.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Does anyone know a source for the factory fabric? I'm not sure if there will be enough fabric for the upholsterer to reuse.

Likely this:

Lear.com - company which I believe made the 8th gen seats. It's been too long, but I'm almost positive they were the manufacturer of the seats. I can't even remember exactly, but it seems like someone on 8th needed their info and I found they made them. I don't know if they did the 9th's, but it wouldn't surprise me.

It also looks like they purchased a company called "Guilford's Automotive". It says: Guilford's Automotive Division produces fabrics for a number of automotive interior applications, including seat fabric. Guilford has strong relationships with virtually all of the major global automakers including BMW, Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Nissan, Toyota and Volkswagen.

so Guilford may be the producer of that fabric

My only complaint about my new 2015 Si sedan is the center armrest. It has NO padding whatsoever. I've had to compromise and use towels for some sort of padding. Thinking about possibly replacing the center armrest with one from a 2015 non-Si Civic ( thinking being those armrests are padded ). Sometime soon, I plan on stopping by my local Honda dealer to see how much non-Si part will cost ( I'm guessing its relatively easy to swap out each one??? )
I've googled replacement parts but haven't found anything suitable. Would like to find a website that has non-Si Civic center armrests.
Any input, questions, comments are welcome. Thanks
