So in the space of a week the world of motorsport has been hit again, losing a passionate, gutsy and extremely talented individual.

And Sepang circuit chairman Mokhzani Mahathir added: "This is a one-of-a-kind freak incident where the helmet came off and I am sure FIM [International Federation of Motorcycling] and MotoGP will be looking into this."

so make your own theories - how would you say his type of helmet would come off? Failure of some type, user error,.. I don't know what type of strap or whatnot keeps his type of helmet on. Sad week for the racing industry

the video is rather odd... it all happens in the first few seconds.


pausing the video off and on at the very intro, it looks like he's not even on the bike when he's veering right into the other bikes...

He high sided, came back across the track and lost the front end. His head was then hit by both bikes of Edwards and Vale... you can see his neck restraint and helmet in pieces along the track.
