Cheaper alternative for CarPlay on my 2014 Civic imid screen.

I installed an Android TV Box on my Civic imid screen using HDMI to RCA converter. Connected my CarLink dongle and installed the CarPlay Apk. Everything is running smoothly, only problem i'm having is that none of the controls from the remote is being registered on CarPlay. The only thing working rite now is the mouse function. Same problem on my iPhone xs with IOS 13. I tried to use the button mapper but still didn't work. Anyone got any tips on how i can enable my remote to navigate thru the apps in CarPlay?

No, not the steering wheel controls, its the usb air mouse/remote
