Flaking

Hi,

The paint of this part of the exhaust (or whatever it is) of an R18 seems to exhibit flaking. Just wondering if there's an underlying issue that may have caused this. I've seen pictures of quite "old" civic engines that do not exhibit this.

Yep. That's it.

I would totally have honda look at it. Not that it's supposed to be shiny and chrome-like for life, but it shouldn't look like yours. I'd ask for it to be replaced. That's just going to keep flaking.

Yeah...it's not supposed to flake off that fast.

For the record, 'twas cracked since the day I bought it brand new last year. That time I thought i was just normal since it was -50c during winter here.

Thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it.

I'll try to have this replaced by the dealer during the next oil change.
