So I had planned on picking up some 2006-2009 Si wheels for the spring, however I think I'm going to rock these instead:

They're 17x7 +45 HFP EP-R5 wheels. I picked them up this past April for $140 on CraigsList. The original ad stated they're RSX Type-S wheels, however they're not. I did some research after buying them and found out they're in fact HFP EP-R5 wheels. Each wheel does have some deep rash which I'vee been slowly trying to repair. I think I scored on the wheels though.

Since the purchase I have removed the tires, stripped the wheels down to bare metal, smoothed out most of the shallow rash, and filled the deep rash using Permatex Liquid Metal. I will continue to work on them as much as I can during the winter. I've been experimenting with my steelie wheel covers and painted them PMM; surprisingly I've gotten several compliments with the PMM on PMM. Once I'm ready to paint the EP-R5s when the warmer weather comes back I think I'm going to go with PMM :)

As for tires, I'm thinking about 225/45/17 Continental ExtremeContact DWS all seasons.

I was originally going to refinish and sell them to make some profit, but why bother? I do want to paint them, but I may have them professionally powder coated instead depending on the cost. They only option I have if I do it myself is by using spray paint which is kind of the cheap way out.

Exactly. I just have to find a place that offers a decent price because powder coating can be expensive.

I have these laying around. I know the EP-R5s don't come with them, but thoughts on putting them on one spoke of each wheel?

agreed, those would be a nice set of wheels for the money! You can have really decent results with spraying them yourself as well. Just do it in a lot of light coats, with dry time between each stage. I've seen some that turned out great.
