I quit a stressful credit card collections agency (outbound call center) b/c it sucked and I got wrote up for having a cargo pocket on my khaki pants.
We worked 1pm to midnight Fri - Mon and had to completely dress up but didn't have to wear a blazer. Really, we're getting cussed out everyday, leaving 5 million messages in a 5ft x 5ft cubicle and we need to dress up this much. Three managers pulled me off the phones, had me come into an office, they put the employee handbook in from of me and asked me to read a section they highlighted. It discussed the dress code and how slacks with no additional pockets were permitted blah blah blah. I'm sorry it was laundry day. They looked at me and acted like I just stole millions of dollars from the company. The next day I came in 3 hours late dress in a t-shirt and khaki shorts, sat at my cube and started to gather a few things while 30+ people just starred at me. I said goodbye to a few people, and when my boss came over and asked what was wrong I just said this isn't working out, handed him my badge and walked out the door.
That was a lot of work just to quit. I just walk in or call. :P I should have walked in an took a dump on his desk then kicked him in his throat. Worst person I have ever met. God complex, called employees by harassing nicknames and sexually harassed nearly every woman working there.
