My wife and I just purchased a 2012 ex-l, Loving the 30+ mpg's.

I am ready to pick up a Si for myself. I see a few 2011 (8th gens) with 15k miles in the area for $19-20k
and a new Si is $24k.

before I sign the papers what would you guys do? This will be a daily driver and possible once a month track car for fun. all mods will be suspension and I don't plan on touching the motor/exhaust.

welcome to the site! depending on your location, you could possibly get a new Si for around $23-24k OTD. If you're paying cash, the $3-4k difference is not insignificant, but if you're financing, the 0.9% and 1.9% rates that Honda's offering on the Si is much lower than what you can usually get for a used car, so you might wanna take that into consideration as well. The extra torque of the new motor is very welcome, especially if you're gonna DD the car and not mod the motor.

The ex-l? silver sedan.

for the Si I'm torn between white or red. It has to be a sedan, are son is due in october and my coupe isnt going to cut it.

I was going to post pics but its just a bone stock ex-l.
