Rear speaker replacement brackets

I need help bracketing my new Alpine spr 60s in the rear deck of a 2012 honda civic. I tried using this bracket : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007WQ8XE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 but they would not work even after moding them by cutting. The alpine speakers are simply to wide around to fit in the stock honda trunk hole and need to be raised about 1/2'' or so to fit flushed. I tried talking to an audio shop and he told me that I have to return the speakers and buy the ones he was selling (some rockford fosgate with adjustable screw ports) and a bunch of other b/s. Then I went to the next audio shop and they said they would do it for 50$ but I seriously doubt that is necessary. Someone help me!!!

Do you have a jigsaw, or access to one? If you have one, you can certainly make some rings out of MDF or Baltic Birch plywood. Home Depot sells small part sheets, they call them project panels up here. Lay out what you need, cut it out, drill a few holes.

A router would make a real nice job if you had a circle jig. On the other hand, $50 for someone to provide a solution when you don't have tools or the time is a bargain IMO.
