Traffic Reports on Navi in Canada

Hey All,

New to the site etc...

Just wondering if someone has found out how to get traffic onto the Canadian Nav system? I know that in the states the navi has live traffic, correct? ANyways, there has to be a way for us Canadians to enjoy this luxury! Any informaiton would be greatly appreciated.

It's call "FM Traffic" and it's built into the OEM navigation system through hardware and software. Either your navigation system has it or it doesn't.
Looking at Honda's US and Canadian websites, the US website mentions that it comes built-in whereas the Canadian website does not mention it at all.
My guess is that there is no way to add it to the OEM navigation, but that's my assumption.

In the US the traffic data is multi-cast on the PBS FM stations. My garmin has an FM receiver in the power cord that gets the broadcast. The GPS has nothing to do with it other than display data from the traffic software.
