Bought a civic with no key fob

Hey y'all so I just bought a 13 Civic Si and it didn't come with any key fobs it only has the spare key. Any suggestions? Has anyone had there car rechipped or re-keyed. Would it be a whole new immobilizer?
 
Like the only thing you have is a gray valet key? Where did you buy the car, and why didn't they have "keys" for it? I'd be worried that someone has the real keys and could just swing by your place of work/home and drive away with your car.

you can buy replacement keys though. Programming is a simple process -
(I should note that this would still be the process using the gray valet key, and then buying a fob like he has in the video. If you want the actual fob in the key itself, like the normal factory key, you'll have to get it programmed at a dealership to get the immobilizer to work. You can buy a blank key/keyfob for the car, but then the immobilizer will need programmed at a dealership, and that can run 75-150 dollars or so depending on the dealership)

Ok so i got the car for a unbelievable low price of 6k steering wheel airbag is missing and pass side curtain air bag popped as well car had front end damage. It was picked up at an auction buy a repair shop they fixed the front end damage but not the airbags and the car has no keys except for the valet key. I just talked to the dealership and she quoted me around $200 her for two keys fob and a reprogram. So that seems very reasonable.

If you go to the dealer they should be able to give you a replacement. I remember for my 8th it was around $55.

Hi!
I just got a new key fob for my 2014 civic lx and after trying multiple times I still can’t program it. I move my original key from off to on and click the lock button and repeat 4 times but I can’t make the lock system cycle and program the new key fob.
Any advice? Is the process different for a 2014 civic lx? Thanks!
 
Last time I checked, you can go to a dealership with the title and they’ll set you up with a new one for $50-$60.

Doesn't your key have the lock/unlock on the key itself like the picture below? You say you're using the original key, but purchased a new fob?

Yes that is the key that I have. I bought a flip key that is supposed to come with the civic in japan so i was trying to set that one up.

Flip keys are an entirely different ball of wax. There wasn’t even a 9th generation civic in japan (so the seller lied, but anyway). Take a look through this thread. Just swapping your key guts over isn’t enough to get that key to work or even start the car.

It look the same size and the fob has the same layout as my original key
 
Just an update:
I was able to get my flip key cut, get the transponder programed, and get the key fob programed.
I found a locksmith who was able to do all this for $90.
The result is great. No hacking or gutting out an old key. Everything works perfectly so far.
