Apple is preparing to begin supporting digital car keys in the Wallet app for certain Volvo, Polestar, and Audi vehicles, based on code changes discovered by MacRumors in Apple's Wallet app backend.

‌The car keys‌ function can allow an iPhone or Apple Watch with NFC capabilities to unlock, lock, or start a vehicle through the Wallet app by simply holding the device near a compatible vehicle's NFC reader. Car key functionality may vary by manufacturer and model.

Apple introduced ‌digital car key support‌ in 2022, and select car brands like BMW, BYD, Hyundai/Genesis/Kia, Lotus, Mercedes-Benz, and RAM have implemented support for the feature‌. Apple maintains a full list of vehicles that support ‌car keys‌ on its CarPlay model availability web page.

I saw something about that. Ive started carrying a key again cause the phone as key has made me wonder if it was gonna work a few times lately. Everyone figures the 2 isnt going to get anything from this, the platforms basically end of life between age and being built in china

i just wandered around the neighborhood but theres too many trees to see the comet

Hey. Have you ever been to Hawaii in February ?

Trying to find a place to go that's a direct flight from Vancouver.
I’ve been to Maui in April and October and Kauai in September. Never in February. It’s peak whale season then, you’d probably see a bunch of them around.

How was the weather in jan? supposed to be cooler and rainy? want to go somehwere hot so low 70s might not be ideal for us.

not to brag but we see whales from our back deck all the time, probably the same whales out there lol.

Too late for closing the gaps. It's hard taking pallets apart. Would be funny if the bear ripped them off though.
I just saw an old mythbusters where they tested grizzly bears breaking into a car for food, and tested various deterrents. The one thing that worked was powdered cayenne pepper! They had big jugs and spread it all over the outside of the car, the ground, and inside the car. The bear wouldn’t even go close to it! If you want to test it out at your place, you could spread some around and see if you have the same results. It just looked like jugs of this -

Now mind you, while you will repel bears, you will attract me with this. Weigh out the options.

this breaks my rule of spending no money though. had a large black bear come by last night, it was struggling hard, i scared it away.

They cayenne pepper thing. Tried it with my dog years ago to stop him from digging. Once he realized it would only sting a bit and make him sneeze, he’d just continue to dig but with some more sneezes along the way.
