Whats the purpose of that? ive driven in spain and costa rica using my canadian drivers license.
What Webby said....plus it covers a ton of other countries. This permit also lasts for a year.

Agreed! Do you frequent all those Vending Machines when you’re there? Probably the first thing I’d run to.

It's where I get all of my drinks from ( they are literally placed every few steps ), but I haven't tried any of the Crepe or Ramen ones that you see in the arcades yet.
I'll probably get more pics today when I go to Koto.

Do you partake in the sweat water? :giggle:

So we want to go on a 2 week vacation in February. My wife has never done an all inclusive before. Just tagging along with our parents who rent condos or houses and we get free accommodations. Except for our stop over in Portugal where we rented a room ourselves before flying to Seville to meet my dad.

My wife thinks an all inclusive will not be a good time. My dad and step mom want to rent a house which we will pitch in for but there are no direct flights from Vancouver to Costa Rica. I've checked multiple air ports including Seattle which apparent had a direct flight last year. Best I could find so far is a 1 to 1.5 hour layover in Mexico for about $6k for the 4 of us. But that's also getting a hotel room in San Jose when we get there and the day before we leave which just adds to the entire cost.

The two other times we went to Costa Rica it was flying out of Toronto for like $4k direct.

Tell her you need to atleast try an all inclusive one time. Then you can decide which you like better.

It's just nice to just order anything you want at any time and in any place and not worry about paying for anything. Def tip here and there but that's about it. The only downside might be that you tend to just stay in the resort.

When you are in the rental homes....do you have to "find" your own food? or is it included in some package where someone cooks for you?

We are looking at some trip next year with another couple....something Caribbean or in mexico. Def will be doing all inclusive since we are there to just hang out and relax. Prob 4 days max.
My wife priced out the same resort in DR that we went to a couple years ago. It was showing $2800(plus airfare) something for the 2 of us....Wed-Sun.

I am getting free flight benefits again with Delta in Feb 2025....my brother is an employee and they are changing their perks again, so I win! lol. Hopefully I will be making more quick trips next year.

Yeah some people aren't made for just staying at the resort and chilling. Personally when we go to the DR (Punta Cana) we stay in the resort unless we do an excursion. I've heard that Aruba you can go into town and it's safe.

Definitely tip at any all-inclusive resort as the staff barely make any money and work a lot of days in a row.

We are going to the DR (not Punta Cana) in February 2025 for the wife's friend's 40th Birthday. I believe it's Sunday-Thursday. It's $3300/couple with airfare included and that's with trip insurance (my wife has to have it) so it would be a couple hundred less if we didn't go with the trip insurance.

This was the place we went to. It was open for 1 year when we went....so now like 4 years old?

No way that can be correct...

"$941/Night" for the cheapest room... I am looking at the time frame (end of February) just comparing to the place I'm staying at for wife's friend's 40th bday.

Edit: It's a little cheaper in May (just picked that month since it's my anniversary). Down to $666/night for the member rate.

lol I went a year out to Feb 2026 to see if that helped pricing. Cheapest option

When we get free accommodations with parents we will buy and make food as well as go out once and a while.

I hate tipping. If I'm going to be paying $6-8k for an all inclusive the last thing I want to do is spend more money. Lol.

I've done an all inclusive once in punta cana when I was 19. I was bored after the 3rd day of binge drinking. With only one all inclusive to compare I prefer renting a house and driving to places which is pretty hard to do in Mexico.
