The snow is incredible at Whistler.. the coast mountain range gets a ton of wet snow, meaning the powder mid-mountain is much heavier than the drier powder at the top.. and then the base of the mountain is usually above freezing meaning you get spring...
You're clever to wait until everything is maxed before upgrading. You get half as much loot at higher town hall levels (although you can go up in trophies easier and find good payouts still). A lot of people forget to do their walls.. I wouldn't upgrade town halls below 7 unless your walls are...
Upgrade the clan castle ASAP. That building has the highest potential for damage per second out of any defensive building.. and yes, upgrade those walls. I'm at a really slow pace with my walls.. 500k per section... next level will be 1 million per section. Yep.. they make progress...
