the voltage on the rear speaker wires doesn't effect the wiring into the amp? usually takes a line level into the amp thru RCA inputs, no?

second, rather than using the rear speakers would tapping into the stock subwoofers wire work ('12 si)?

my goal is to run 1 12' Sub off of an aftermarket amp, does the stock sub have to be removed/disconnected or altered in anyway?

update: Did a dry test run, everything seemed to work ok.

used a kicker line out converter to take the stock subwoofer's signal and put it thru the RCA input on my amplifier.
using the same 'posi' connectors as OP I tied the left & right positive to Green wire and left & right negative to the Red wire. From there it is plug and play, and you can still maintain subwoofer control through the sound settings in the Head Unit.

From there everything else was done as OP directed.

Yes, it was hooked into the back two factory speakers with no mods away from the stock head unit. Hope that helps!

The user hasn’t been online in 3yrs, but they have the LX model without the amp / premium audio.
