I am not sure if this is the best place to post it or not, but is it possible to change out the front grill on a non-si grill to become the si grill? I wouldn't want the Si badge or anything like that, but I do not really like the look of the non-si grill that comes on the 14 coupes. Here are to example pictures of the front ends...

Also if you have an idea of the cost of parts / part numbers / total cost that would be awesome too. Thanks in advance!

Can't see why it wouldn't fit.

Typically grilles are interchangeable. Shouldn't be am issue for you and would give your car a nice upgrade/look from all the other EX LX civics. Doo it!

I am looking at the honda e-store website to try an figure out what parts I actually need. I see some as duplicates & some as parts needed. I probably need to spend some time figuring this part out. I would like to figure out the cost of this "upgrade" before I dive into it =P My guess is around $300.00.

Your probably just going to need the upper grille assembly if there are two separate pieces. Any other clips should be the same and could be re used.

I think its these parts:

* 71121-TS9-A61 ($151.25) - Base, Fr. Grille (Main Part?)
* 71122-TS9-A61 ($105.05) - Molding, Fr. Grille (Silly silver part?)

Thanks webby. I signed up for the account this morning & just sent a message over to them to get my account added. At this point I am basically 100% on board to do this modification / change. The parts I intend to buy will be the following for my Coupe EX-L

71121-TS9-A61 BASE, FR. GRILLE $117.98
71122-TS9-A61 MOLDING, FR. GRILLE $81.94
75700-TM0-000 EMBLEM (H) $14.44 (I wouldn't want to try to salvage the emblem off the original grill as I fear breaking the tabs will cause it to not be safely mounted to the new grill & I am not sure how easy it would be to salvage the old emblem to do this part)

Total = $214.36 Before Tax & Shipping

Anyone know if the prices of these parts are in fact cheaper with the discount mentioned above? I get all kinds of antsy when its time to buy something shiny!... Thanks in advance if anyone has time to answer my question =P

yes, replacement stuff (not accessories) are discounted from the link above.

Keep in mind @Todai that the Si badge on the front grill is moulded into the grill on the 14's unlike the 12's and 13's. It can't be removed otherwise mine would be gone.

Take a look at:

http://www.collegehillshondaparts.c...ne/interior-bumper-cat/front-grille-14-2-scat

Line # 6 = 75732-TS9-A11 EMBLEM SET, FR. (SI)

From my point of view the part is separate from the grill. I see what you are saying... in the blueprints there is a "Blank Rectangle" where the SI badge would be.... Hmmm that might throw off my entire plan =(

Maybe if I find the right emblem to sit in that spot... Since I am not racing my car I don't want represent myself as a racer... Hopefully creative side of my brain has a brain cell or two remaining for this task

That emblem thing is the only thing thats keeping me from the switch. Until i find a solution for this, im gonna go ahead with other mods. Like the rear sway bar.

I am trolling ebay at the moment to try to get an idea... some of these ideas may work or they might just be bad ideas....

This one might be too long to mount in that spot...

This one would probably break if i got my car washed...

This might be too tacky...

I guess i would need to see the grill up close and personal to judge what I would want to use to cover up that spot. Some of the other grill emblems look stupid so those got bypassed.

Before you buy anything, do a Google search for wholesale Honda Civic Si parts. Then you can compare prices. I've found a number of dealers who have better prices on specific items I'm looking for. Save the company and pricing information and see if you can get a price match.

Not to burst your bubble, but everyone of those look like crap.
