I might feel like getting back in by August / Sept, but we'll see. I can't totally abandon the life, but it's nice to take a little vacation from it.

Plus this year it will be fun to be the chef once again and ride shotgun in some people's cars that I didn't over the years.
Nom nom good food. I will have to man up this year with my lips to enjoy more of it.

I'm changing the menu from last year, I'm definitely making fajitas, and maybe a few other things.

My recent trip to China gave me some ideas; ate some really different and tasty things there, and still alive.

Haha. I love hot food but haven't had anything like Jason cooked. It was sooooooo good, but I was a little wimp :-(

Fajitas = bueno.

This past weekend, I finally got the wheels and Dunlop Z2 tires on there for a few days. I had to pull them off with this cold snap as I didn't want to risk tire hardening with the teens-mid 20 temps. These wheels weigh 6 lbs less each, wow what a difference in response.

dirty but you get the idea

6lbs?? What is the size of these things??

whoops, incorrect. I think I was lying. 6 is a bit of a stretch, more like 5.5 lbs
stock is 17x7, ~22+ lbs
Sparco 16x7, 16.7 lbs

The Z2 tires weigh 1 lb less, so net is over 6 lbs drop.

Pretty righteous I must say.

... Here I was thinking the 17lb 18x8.5 Advans I have were light.

EDIT: :faceroll: lol - I'm awesome at reading! (Thought you were stating that the wheels only weighed 6lbs / each, not "6lbs LESS / each"

<- Is a winner.

What wheels are they?

Looks like it is time to get some glossy b and a pillars. That flat/plastic look is killing it for me.

Sparco from Tire Rack. 4x108
The pillars look off in that pic, I think its a sun & phone camera trick.

Here is a realistic pic of the pillars

Got a call from my local dealer tonight as they had just gotten in a 15 WRX... While I wouldn't buy this specific car I am in serious thinking mode now. Much much cooler in person and the updated interior is actually liveable now.

Hmmm...

So shiny..... holding out till the IDX drops....

We just got our 2015 WRX at work, drove it from CT. The interior is so much improved from 2014, and the seats are actually supportive now. Still, gotta drive that Fiesta ST in a few more months.

what'd you think the power/steering etc felt compared to your last wrx

This is from his post on FaceBook:

"Good but not great (regards to CVT), shifts fast but not twin clutch fast, still no replacement for a 6spd. We got the CVT so we can develop a trans cooler should they start overheating with modded cars. Handling is like a 2014 WRX, only with upgraded sways, and RCE blacks. The WRX has the same aluminum control arms and pillowball bushings as the STI."

Yeah, as usual, the electric assisted steering has great response, but the feel and feeback is less than the hydraulic rack of my 12 WRX, also is less weighted. People that want quick responsive steering will like the 2015, I can't imagine how the STI will feel with it's 13.5:1 (hydraulic assist), compared to the 14.5:1 of the WRX.

Because of the quicker rack, and the much better front suspension with the pillowball bushings, the front turns very quick, very Evo like. Also Subaru added a lot of chassis bracing in the front, almost making aftermarket add-ons obsolete. I was under our car today and noticed the chassis bracing, plus the 4 mounting points of the steering rack. The new car was built with handling in mind, but the engine runs out of steam above 5K rpm, it's definitely a mid range car.

I forget what mods you have.. Care you post them up again?

That LONG sweeping right turn... DAMN!
