Any idea what this hose goes to?

It may be the pcv valve with the hose attached. Pretty sure it's located down by the alternator on the engine block.

Yeah it's the hose that goes to the pcv valve. The threaded elbow is the end opposite the pcv valve. Here's mine. Compare it to his engine pic.

And yes, that's a part you need. Without it you may start burning oil.

I don't see anything missing in his pics.

I edited my post. Look again. Looks like the dude connected his pcv hose just to a bolt... The piece he had in the first picks I'm willing to bet is the other end of the hose.

Is this what you are referring to?

It is there in his. Hard to see in one picture, but visible in another.
I see a hose. But the pcv valve is missing, hose is attached to just a bolt. It's something with the pcv system that he took off. Maybe the OP can provide a better pic of this area?

Yeah it's there. Cranked my screen brightness and you can see it

Dang. Yep that's what I was talking about. Looking under my hood I didn't see any other hose similar to that :(
Well thanks for going so far to help me out! :wavey:
Hmm, so what do you folks recommend i do? Perhaps he may have been right?

Can you just call/text him and ask where the hose was from, or what it was connected to?

That's the thing when i came to notice what he did, it seemed like he didn't even know where it went. But his response was that it served no purpose...lol
I shall be seeing him possibly today and see if he can remember.

All he was doing was replacing the paper filter in the airbox? That just requires popping a few clips to raise the plastic cover, so he had to be digging around the engine. If he can't remeber what he did, I'd avoid using him as a "mechanic".

Correct, that is all he did. Yeah you're right on that webby :/. Found it pretty odd that he just said it had no purpose.

I'll update this later after i get some answers, once again thank you webby and everyone else for your feedback.

We have several Honda techs and college Hills Honda on here that may be able to help. Is there a part number on the hose?

Besides the markings displayed in one of the pictures i posted ( "EJ" ) none at all.

Is it possible that this piece is not even from your car and your "mechanic" picked it up and just assumed that it came from your car so he gave it to you. ? Maybe it was from a previous job. ?
