Anyone here a beer advocate?

Dogfish Head Pumkin Ale is delicious. Probably the best Pumpkin Ale I've had. I've never tried that Wolavers. I can't say I've ever had any tottally organic beers. I'm definitely going to try and drink as many Marzens//pumpkin ales as I can while they're in season. Festbier by Victory is another tasty one I typically enjoy.

My question is, can Marzens be aged? I know they are aged to begin with.. but I wonder if it is possible to buy them in season and save them a few months to drink the rest of the year?

I dunno. Could definitely stash a couple and see. Beers that are labeled as bottle refermentation or that have high % are usually best to try and age. Some beers just don't age well.

Almost all of the beer from Unibroue can be aged. I think they recommend between 5-8 years.

I might have to try and see. Would be nice for future reference. I'd love to be able to enjoy some good fall bears year round. I might have to post on the beer advocate forums and see what people have to say.

And Marzens aren't "pumpkin beer", FWIW. Pumpkin ales and Oktoberfests aren't the same.

On another note. The two "La Fin Du Mondes" I had in the fridge? Yeah.. DRANK!
10% ain't no joke! Hash Tag "HAMMERED!"

My roommate just put this up :giggle:

If you couldn't tell... he likes Sam Adams. Other than Sams, he only drinks Budweiser :pat: :pat: :pat:

Budweiser other than Sam Adams? That's weird.

I'm generally not a fan of flavored beers.

My wife likes this, which I can drink one or two of at a time.

That stuff is gross in my opinion..

The color alone turns me off, it looks like dirty dishwater... And it tastes like a kid poured some lemonade in your beer when you weren't looking.... Ill pass

Just a disclaimer, I like unfiltered wheat style beers a lot... That summer shandy is just not good to me. Haha

Went to Costco to get some beer. I bought a 24-pack of Stella Artois. It's okay, it's not the best beer. It was cheap though so I can't complain.

This is interesting. Beeradvocate rates Yuengling as a solid 78. Which is the same as Blue Moon. Stella Artois is 71 and I like Stella much more than Yuengling. Killians has a 70. And I highly prefer Killian's Irish Red over the other beers mentioned in this post. :(

I agree. I'm not a huge fan of either but I prefer Stellas to Yuengling.

That seems like a high score for Yuengling. Pretty surprising.

Yeah, rating beers is hard cause its so subjective. Find something you like and drink it! I find it funny how well regarded stella is, I don't particularly like it at all.

If I just want something to put me to bed the St.Bernardus ABT12 does the trick pretty well.
