Lamborghini Huracan Hits 200mph in 7 seconds

In the description of the video, the car is labelled the fastest and quickest Huracan on earth in both the quarter-and half-mile. It is fitted with a strengthened dual-clutch transmission and can launch to 200 mph (320 km/h) from a standstill in a touch over 7 seconds.

This onboard footage shows the modified Lambo rocketing off the line along a drag strip. It appears to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in a little over 1 second (!) before breezing past 155 mph (250 km/h) in roughly 5 seconds. That is simply astonishing for a road-legal car.

This Trio Just Set New Cannonball Record Driving Coast-To-Coast In 27 Hours 25 Minutes

On November 10, they left Red Ball garage on the east side of Manhattan and headed across their ‘northern route’ that included the I-80 through Nebraska, I-76 down to Denver, I-70 to the middle of Utah, and the I-15 to Los Angeles before crossing the finish line at the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach in L.A. Their average speed was 103 mph (165.7 km/h) and they only made four fuel stops completed in just 22 and a half minutes.

As mentioned, the weapon of choice was a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG but not just any E63. This one was comprehensively modified and included an AMS Performance Alpha 9 package with upgraded turbochargers, intercoolers, and intake. A 45-gallon fuel cell was also fitted. Additionally, the trio used a Net Radar radar detector, a windshield-mounted Escort Max 360 radar detector, an AL Priority laser jammer system, and an aircraft collision avoidance system to help the record-setters monitor highway patrol aircraft.

The car was also lightly disguised so it looked like any other silver sedan and even featured a thermal scope used on a roof-mounted gimbal to detect the heat signatures of any police sitting on the side of the road. Finally, a crew of 18 spotters, who would drive hundreds of miles ahead of the E63 to scout the road for police activity and hazards, were used along the route.

I wonder how much that weighs in at. Anything less than about 2200 would make that thing on par with the Koenigsegg 1:1.

well it didn't take long for someone to break the record yet again. This time they used the coronavirus pandemic to take advantage of empty roads to break the record.

New Cannonball Record Reportedly Set At 26:38 With Audi A8 L While America’s On Lockdown

A new Cannonball record has been set in a journey from New York to Los Angeles that took a mere 26 hours and 30 minutes.

While specific details about the run are limited, it is understood that it occurred on Sunday last week and involved a white 2019 Audi A8 L sedan. VINwiki’s Ed Bolian says the crew behind the record decided to make the run in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic to take full advantage of the near-empty roads throughout much of the United States.

Only two images of the record-setting Audi A8 L have found their way online. One shows that part of the taillights were covered by tape, likely to make the white sedan look even more unassuming, while the second confirms that the car was outfitted with a long-range fuel tank to reduce the number of fuel stops needed for the cross-country journey.

Previous record-holders have used complex radar sensors and other tools, including spotters, to avoid police and it’s likely that the Audi used in this latest run also featured such systems.

The most recent Cannonball record was set in November last year and involved a trio behind the wheel of a modified Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. They needed 27 hours and 25 minutes to drive from New York to Los Angeles, beating the previous record set by Ed Bolian and Dave Black that once stood at 28 hours and 50 minutes.
