Car died on the side of the road. Let's guess what's wrong

just got an update and confirmed it was the same problem everyone has been having. i have been told the head was sent out to the machine shop and all parts are ordered to put it back together by the end of the week. they do not think i need to replace anything else. all covered under warranty ofcourse

my question to the guru on this site is that will anything they are doing here affect the driving? i dont want to get the car back with less power than it did.

i will be driving a 84 mecedes 300D for a week and a half at that point and jumping in that car it will feel like a ferrari, but i dont want to to have less power than it did.

wish i had more info and i will post what was done on the print out when i pick it up

thanks

did they give you an idea of why this happened?

Nope. But I take it from the other thread as bad assembly. I really hope it's not a bad part. Not knowing if the new head will go in another 6000.

A bad assembly means what? ALL THE si's have a bad vtec rockers. Does this mean a recall?

The reason why I ask is because I baby my car but one in a while I do stretch her legs.

I am stopping by the dealer locally to see if Honda has issued any news for it...I will keep you updated on what they say

Don't take what I mean to be the official reason by any means. It was just a comment made by someone on another forum that the parts looked okay and when he tried to put it back it seemed tight and should work and therefore said it was probably not installed right. Obviously some of us don't have problems and some had them.

My tech said to treat it like a new car and don't drive hard or go over 60 mph for the first 500 miles. Anyone agree to this? I want easy on it when it was new and didn't think heads needed to be broken in.

Since I have just over 20,000 miles I am assuming (and hoping) that I dont run into any issues. As of now Vtec soounds and works great through every gear
