Koni shocks rebound adjustment?

Wouldnt chris be too stiff riding on full stiff all the time?

Monk, are you referring to koni sports?

BTW: yesterday i set it to half turn in rear, full turn front. I went and pushhed it on windy road. I felt the car was sticking to the ground more on stock shocks. The tires were letting lose more.
I think the tires now cant keep up with the new shocks, maybe...?
\
Keep in mind I haven't got alignment yet.

Today I set front and back to 1 full turn. see how it feels.

I'm referring to "any" shock, as long as it has the adjustments on it that will allow you to do it.
I would go with RedShiftChris , Take one pill doesn't mean 2 or 3. try the very low settings, as *RSC mentioned and keep the ratio as he suggested. * "So, maybe 1/4 turn from full soft in front and 1/2 turn from full soft in back." Then if you feel it needs more, move up an 8th of a turn each F&R. Remember these are quality shocks, it's not going to take much to over do it.

BTW: Is it me or is it a real pain in the *** to get the adjustment knob on the shock in the front under the cowl?
For that issue, I cut a slit in one side of the adjustment knob, just about 1/4" high or so right where the slot is. Gave me just enough room to easily slide it in and out.

Thanks for that.
I will try this; cause i have to pull up on that plastic to get it in otherwise.

And i cut flaps in the liner for the rears for easy access. They stay closed pretty good, but i might attach some velcro so they dont get pushed in.

And for reference, I had mines at 7/8 turn from soft in front, and 1-1/4 turn from full soft rear

how to you get dead accuracy like that? i was thinking of using some kind of ring with markings to put on top of the threads?

Knob has 8 ridges. Find a reference point and count the ridges that pass as you turn the knob.

Full range adjustment is 2 turns. So 8 ridges is one turn, 4 ridges is 1/2 turn, etc. For consistency, I'd always turn it to full soft and then make the adjustment from there.

didnt realize those ridges served a purpose...;D

Yup. I have been meaning to soften mine a lot. The car rides really well with a bit of weight in it though! Maintenance this weekend so I'll be backing them off. I'm going to start by backing the fronts off from 1 1/2 to 1 and leave the rears at 1 1/2 for now.

Monk - great suspension info man! I know all about sag from riding bikes but it never crossed my mind to set up the car the same way. Hahahah..... jeez.... and to think I've got an Ohlins/Cane Creek Double Barrel rear shock for my bike on the way. High and low speed compression settings with both H&L rebound adjustments as well... Check this thing out....

Nix..... Cool, looks like a nice set up, what bike are you putting it on?

That slot idea was genius. Thanks mikey. Just did the fronts after exacto + gas stove. Plus i marked each 90 degrees with a sharpie on the knob and the rubber piece on the struts.

That's what I have my Konis set at now and it's perfect for me.

sure that could work well. Adjust front so it stays planted and doesn't spin the inside wheel on corner exit (or so it's comfy) and adjust the rear to something that feel good on the car (usually a little more firm than the front) or to full firm for best performance. How firm you like it depends on you.... everyone is different.... that much I've learned. :)

From this thread I got the impression that people don't mess with it all too much, as I thought.

Reminds me of something.....

From what I get from here and my MC forum, is that there are pll that get into making their suspension work, with stock , or in most cases mod'ed with AM parts. Then there are ppl that want the part, but never get into the making it work.
Basically, like there are ppl that buy a car and never do anything but take it to the dealer for service(if they bother doing that).

But.... I think that's the good thing about this(these) forums, it brings some ppl out of the haze and into sun, at least a lot more than the ppl that don't even go to a forum that drive. Just think of all the peeps that don't even know there are forums about cars(or anything they might like).
