Mother Of All Whore Threads Non-VIP Edition v.1

Back when I was in High School, there was one kid that had a green one(cant remember the year). He ended up wrapping it around a tree one night. Two days later he had a new white one.

Well, not sure when that was so it could've been a super cheap solution (to have another one) or very expensive (in which case, it must be nice to have money).

It was back in 97-98? Both cars were brand new, lol

Going through some bills for work. One of the owners took their Audi wagon to the dealer for service. Oil change and brake fluid "exchange". $1,014.92.

Labor for both services was $657. Brake fluid "parts" was $13.76 and $206 labor.

Well, the MSRP in 97/98 was between $28k-$47k depending on the trim level of the 3000GT (3 trim levels were offered: base, SL, and VR-4). Adjusted for inflation (June 98 to Jun 25), that MSRP range was $55k-$93k. I still couldn't imagine paying $55k for a Mitsubishi, let alone nearly $100k for one; but, for a HS kid, it is even more of an insane consideration (to me). Far be it for me to determine how someone else should spend their money, or what other connections the family may have had to maybe get the cars as discounts; but, it seems that the kid you're referring to didn't have much of any appreciation for the overall cost of the cars since wrecking one was instantly replaced with a new one in a matter of days. I was also poor in HS (also around the same time as you), so I was rolling around in my $800 (~$1600 adjusted for inflation) hand-me-down car and was grateful that I even had that.

I hear ya.....the kid/family def had some cash monies and def not the base level cars.

The first car I drove was my brothers first. We bought it from a friend and paid for it by building the friend a fence, got the car in trade, lol.

so you have experience building fences you say... tell me more

been thinking about doing a basic vinyl privacy fence, really dont want to DIY it but the quotes ive gotten have been insane to me

i had one installed before covid. it was 15k cnd. i think they doubled or more since.

holy crap... the diy route is suddenly looking a lot more appealing
yeah, the best was my neighbour on one side never offered to pay for some of it, and had no houses built on the other side or back yet. so i paid the whole thing. but i will say the diy vinyl fence that my neighbours put in was pretty **** compared to mine. it would flex a lot in the wind.
