Mother Of All Whore Threads Non-VIP Edition v.1

I'm 34 :hyper:

After coming home from college ...I had a hard time finding a job that paid anything, so I lived with my parents for almost a solid decade before leaving. In that time, I spent most of my free hours inside, way too invested in video games and comics because ...you know, escapism. I don't know if frugal is the right word (I did buy some very stupid stuff), but I saved in spite of myself, even though I wasn't exactly optimistic about ever getting out of my parents house after a while -- it just became routine.
Same here.....sort of. I spent a year applying to jobs left and right and got nothing. Obviously I was at my parents for that time and eventually landed a mall job at a little furniture shop that paid something like $24k a year......peanuts. I was there for 2 years? and was a assistant manager at the end of the 2 year and was still making $26k a year and still living at the parents house, lol. Through that job I got my "professional job" at Mearsk Shipping line doing accounting stuff. I almost doubled my pay and thought I needed to reward myself. I bought my 2006 Civic Si brand spanking new. The enabled me to "broaden my horizon" and meet all the internet friends I made through 8thcivic.com (I "met" the webster also, :giggle:). So in a way, I was hiding in my parents house for quite some time and then life finally "started". I paid off the car in 18 months and then bought my first house. Market crashed the next year :pat:

Long story short.....being a hermit and living at your parents sometimes can be good if you work it "right" and while you feel like life is passing you by, you eventually "catch up". Which you are obviously doing by making solo trips to Japan and getting into your hobbies.

i swear to god, if my kids are living with me past 19 im moving to a different country.
I hear there are homes available to the south . . .

My oldest is 20, almost 21, and still at home (but, they're also a full time college student and are anticipated to graduate in the next 2yrs); so, we'll see how that goes post-college.

YOU GOT TO MEET WEBBY?! UNFAIR

I appreciate you sharing this @Nomar06 -- this is encouraging! Even though you're still waaaaaaay cooler

Really, I appreciate everyone's input -- I have no idea where any of this will end up, but I feel less alone now.

I guess I need to price a board :brock:

I was thinking @Honda-Fan was not going to get it since I thought he was a "baby" in his twenties. But 34?!?!?! color me shocked!

Yes, I am older than most people think even offline! :spaz:
