What do you guys think of the new Bride boot? I may try a new knob with it. While I love my s2k, feeling a little bored with it.

That looks real close to the seat covering material,is it? I think that looks real cool, was it expensive?

Redline charges $70 for any shift boot. I supposedly will get it free once they approve my install write up. We shall see. And yeah it's a lot like the seats.

I've always disliked leather boots, so my goal with any car I buy is to get rid of the fake leather boots.

I love real leather. I gave a ride to a vegan friend from the office and she asked about the leather boot, because it was so distinct. I told her it was custom leather item. She hated it because it was animal skin. I asked her about her shoes, belts and such, and she said they were vinyl pleather, on purpose. She is certainly committed to her cause! She would have loved the fake leather oem boot Honda uses on the Si! Doesn't look at all like real leather. Looks a lot like her shoes!

Ericc the boot looks fine and definitely matches your interior.

Personally speaking though, I've never enjoyed the "Bride-ization" of interiors. I understand it better (although I don't like it any better) if a person has Bride seats, but to have a Bride shift boot, Bride door inserts, and their rear seats covered with Bride material yet don't have Bride seats just always seemed stupid to me. Please don't think I'm ragging on you because I'm definitely not. It's a popular mod to do these days. Hell, my best friend with a VW Beetle wants a Bride shift boot, but can't tell me why every time I ask.

Just purchased a 490 sperhical blox shift knob in neo chrome I can't wait til it comes in also it was only 50 bucks shipped. Any pointers for installing the shift knob? Heard there were clips and a 14mm nut?

^^^That was playing with colors in Painter 12. Here are shots taken today of my 8th gen boot from Redline that I decided to hild on to, if for no other reason than my shifter keeps getting shorter. I threaded down to within 1/2 inch of the widening taper on the shifter, and cut about 1/2 inch off the top. This way, the Sickspeed knob threads all the way down to about there. I had a simple hex nut there for a few days but didn't like the look of the hideous bolt that camewith the knob:

So I ordered a retainer bolt from ESR Performance in Florida. It came today:

The lip that you see at the bottom is for a zip tie, if your boot is wide enough at the top. The 9th gen is, but the 8th is not. The boot is held up by a rubber grommet that I slipped over the shifter where you can't see it. Now if you don't like my boot, that's OK . I like leather shift boots . . . especially short ones that tuck in a little inside the shifter housing. :spinning:

I'm not a fan of leather shift boots in cars that do not have a leather interior. Idk why but I'm OCDish about it. I think the bride material goes along with the Si interior very well.
