DIY Painted my engine cover

Nice diy. I just painted mine too on an lx but skipped the sanding and primer and used high temp caliper paint. Lets see if my paint stays on. image.jpg image.jpg

I live near Atlanta Ga but I have a garage I hope I can get it warm in there but I'm going to try I will try and post pics after its finished

So far the paint is staying on well without sanding and primer. Guess the key was just doing thin coats and letting it dry between coats.

wonder if they have paint that looks like dyno blue

I'm sure they could mix whatever you want. I bought a spare engine cover to try this once the weather warms up. I'm debating the same color as the car or red to match the battery tie down etc.

i wanna put a emblem on it like i vtec but i wanna find one that has studs on it so i can attach it with nuts. i dont think that 3m tape will hold up to the heat of the bay

I can't see why it wouldn't.... your outer body panels get to 140ish F in the sun or hotter, and outer emblems don't fall off. It may soften some, but it won't fall off.
