Rasky's work! :)

So I had some issues getting her up and running...

First night I realized they had not supplied the hardware needed to mount the pump to the dolly. No biggie as they had another at the warehouse in town. I picked up the hardware yesterday at lunch and installed it last night. Then I went and filled it with hydraulic oil and connected the hose to the unit, hit the lift button, the line tensed up but the lift went nowhere! :(

After troubleshooting things I discovered that the aluminum block where the main hydraulic line comes in and splits out to the two cylinders was not manufactured correctly...

Notice anything wrong here???

This was all at about 9:00 last night and they were closed for the day. I called up the person I had been dealing with and left a message...surprisingly he called me back about 10 minutes later even though he was no longer working...very impressed by that! He was going to look at the splitter on the other unit in the warehouse and call me in the morning. Turns out that one was fine and I stopped there today and picked it up.

That looks much better! :D

I got here all connected again and upward she went!!! :brock:

I still need to fabricate a ramp for the 2" x 12" boards and I think I'll glue two of then together to give me an additional 3" height to clear the lift. I'd also like to secure them to the floor somehow and make it so I can adjust for different widths...for now this will have to do though.

Holy hell! That goes up really high. I didn't expect that.

You wouldnt want to hit the ceiling. Lol. What is it called? And how much can it hold?

great you can get it that high without worrying about a garage door opener/track/whatever.

Yep. I can max out the lift with cars and I shouldn't have to worry about clearance. The power cord for the door open hangs down low but I'm going to fix that. I stood on the lift last night and maxed it out with about an inch to spare before my head touched the ceiling....I'm 5'8" ;)

I originally detailed this car back in '09 after the owner purchased it, which was covered in rail dust at the time. Since last being detailed the owner has done a few mods, including the new wheels which I coated back in January right out of the box. He also had the roof pieces painted black which gave the car a much better look IMO. However, the body shop had not wet sanded the pieces and they had heavy orange peel which he wanted removed. Overall the car was still in great shape and the rust blooms had not returned, though I hit the car with some IronX anyway since we only clayed it back in '09.

Process:

Wash - Foamed with OPC/CGCW followed by 2BM wash and CGCW
Wheels - P21S Gel and various brushes
Tires - OPC, dressed with Hyper Dressing 3:1
Clay - Blackfire Clay and M34 as lube
IronX - Decon
Wet sanding -1500/2000/3000 by hand
Initial Correction Step - D300/MF on the GG6 (M101 used on wet sanded areas)
Finishing Step - Optimum Polish II/Crimson LC on the GG6
Exhaust tips - Optimum Metal Polish
Protection - Optimum Opti-Guard

I did this on a while ago but haven't gotten around to posting it yet. Paint was rock hard on this thing, one of the hardest I've done and I ended up spending more time on it than planned.

The owner of this BMW contacted me last winter about getting his car looking back to the way it should. After purchasing the car it had been damaged on the drivers side by a valet at a restaurant. After the body shop repaired it along with several repeated attempts to remove the swirls/holograms, the owner had enough and sought help online, which was how he found me.

Process:

Wash - Foamed with OPC/CGCW followed by 2BM wash and CGCW
Wheels - P21S Gel and various brushes
Tires - OPC, dressed with Hyper Dressing 3:1
Clay - Blackfire Clay and M34 as lube
Initial correction step - D300/M105 mix on the GG6 with Megs MF cutting pads
Finishing Step - PO85RD via rotary and Blue LC pads
Protection - Blackfire Wet Diamond

amazing work as always. Have you had other hyundai vehicles come in for detailing? Paint not as hard?

I've done one newer Sonata in the same color and only on the plastic panels was it as hard....
