Sorry, I've been way behind on write ups lately but here are a few that I got around to doing...
A good client of mine had scheduled this job for a 1-step polish a while back. Unfortunately he had to drop it off while I was not there (I was working at my regular job) as he was heading out of town for a few days. I stopped at the shop over my lunch break to check it out and to pull it inside....immediately I new a 1-step was not going to get this thing to where we wanted it to be and I contacted him to discuss the issues I was seeing. There was heavy swirling and some sort of chemical staining/oxidation all over the vehicle (likely from touch-less washes). One thing I really wanted to do was utilize the MF pads ability to get it close to edges on this vehicle. Foam pads often have a rounded edge which prevents them from getting in real close like MF pad can. This was very important around areas like the door handles and the top edge by the windows as I has to cut away the oxidation and staining.

Paint wash washed with CGCW followed by IronX and TarX. Surprisingly IronX removed a lot of the staining that was on the paint!
50/50 shots. Correction was achieved using D300/MF on the GG6, and Sonax Perfect finish/Tangerine LC on the GG6.
It was getting dark when I finished and the owner was on his way so the only lighted after shots I had were the 50/50 ones.
LSP was Blackfire Wet-Diamond (2 coats). Trim was coated with 22ple. I actually did do a full interior on this as well, but chose not to take pictures as I was pressed for time and it wasn't too dirty inside.

It's been a long time since I did any detailing on the wife's car and it was looking a little tired. It sits outside 24/7, sees lots of highway miles, and the dealer has neglected to listen to her request of not washing the car more than once (they use the green brooms to wash btw). I went over it with D300/MF followed by Sonax Perfect finish. I just took some quick after pics as I had to get this all done in one day and it was more about the coating anyway....pics are 24hrs after curing.
Thoughts on the product:
I will keep an eye on the durability over the winter but if it's anything like the normal version I'm sure it will be just fine.

Thoughts on the product:
- Nice darkening/richening effect
- Slick feel
- Easy application
- Like the exclusivity and 2yr warranty
I will keep an eye on the durability over the winter but if it's anything like the normal version I'm sure it will be just fine.

This car belongs to a good friend of mine and I actually talked her into going with 22ple. Since I see her often I figured it was a car I'd be able to monitor closely and observe how it holds up over time. She's had this car for about 6 months now and I've been meaning to get it in for a new car prep ever since. Unfortunately my schedule has pushed it out until just recently. With my wife out of town on business for a week I opted to do this one during the week after I was done at my full time job...she normally doesn't like me working during the week.
I actually did more of a "hybrid polish" on this one as the car had gone through the snap n' scratch (soft cloth) wash at the dealer prior to her buying it. LMAO I love how car wash owners say their soft mops don't scratch the paint....maybe not, but when they slap against your dirty wheels and tires, then go over your paint, they CAN and WILL scratch the paint! This was very evident by the amount of marring on the lower panels. As you progressed upwards to the horizontal panels they swirls were less and less sever. Because of this I was able to 1-step most the upper panels with just Sonax Perfect Finish. While that process still yielded excellent results on the lower panels too, some deeper marring remained which I wanted to remove. For those areas I went with D300/MF for the initial correction and followed it with Sonax Perfect Finish.

His & hers, new car prep and Opti-Guard coating on a BMW 7 Series and a 650i Conv.
These car were done for the same owner so I figured I'd just group them together in one article. First up is the husbands 2012 ActiveHybrid 7. The owner actually had this car for a couple months before I could fit it into my schedule. Next up is the wife's 650i Convertible. They opted for the European delivery on this one so it was some time after I did the 7 Series before that it came in. This one was in a little better shape as the owner asked for it not to be detailed and I got it the very next day after it arrived. However, there were still a few areas where someone had done some aggressive polishing which left behind some moderate/heavy marring. Otherwise a light 1-step polish cleared most everything up.

Spot correction was done with M105/foam/rotary followed by Optimum Hyper Polish/foam/DA

yeah I watched it... reminds me of the water sheeting like your opticoat. Vacation huh... does flying you out of the state count as a vacation.... if you're working on someone's car
