Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've been on here, been really busy. Anyways that's besides the point. My car randomly about 2 weeks ago started making a rubbery squeak noise that goes hand in hand with the rotation of the tire. At first I thought it was my brakes but the noise does not come or go when I apply the brakes. When I'm at high speeds it sounds like metal on metal is meeting somewhere but as i slow down you hear "squeak, squeak, squeak" Any ideas? brake pads still have some good meat on there and rotors are not warped. I was thinking possibly bearings?? I'm out of ideas...... HELP!!!! I'll try and get a video up by today.

Vid would help, have you narrowed down which wheel its coming from?

@Nix I think it's all of them lol or the 2 on the driver side and rear passenger side, it's really hard to tell, I'm at work now so when I get home I'll try and make the vid if the weather permits also.

Does it go away when you are applying the brakes? If so I suspect it is either a cracked brake pad or a sticking caliper/pad carrier.

@Nix When I apply the brakes you still hear it, it goes with the rotation of the tire. I jacked up the car and spun my front wheel and it was rubbing the brake pad. If it is a sticking pad carrier, is that an easy cheap fix?

Probably just need to pull everything apart and great the slider pins and check the caliper piston. Grease the backing plates and shims on the brake pads themselves. The pad carrier is just a piece of metal, if there is one, that sits on the ends of the caliper and helps guide the pads. could just be dirt. Again, I'm guessing over the internet but those are easy places to start.

@Nix yeah of course, but that it is a great place to start. I appreciate it, thanks! either way I'm still going to put that video up so the noise can be understood better, hopefully it's nothing to serious.

I hear it. The gritch, gritch, gritch noise...... I don't think its a brake pad sticking anymore, it could be but I think may be cv boot or another rubber part getting bound up somewhere. You could try some silicone spray on a couple spots like the ball joint, cv boot, LCA bushings, and see if it doesn't go away temporarily. Im at a loss though but I definitely hear it. You might need to take it to someone to look at. Dealer or another shop.

Other spot to check is the wheel itself. Are you running hub rings? Pull the wheel and hit the hub ring with a quick spray of silicone and reinstall the wheel. It could be something as simple as the plastic moving around a little.

EDIT: It could be a wheel bearing. I certainly hope not since thats an expensive fix but that is definitely a sound a bad bearing can make. Its in one spot and does it every rotation, bearing issue.

@Nix thanks man, appreciate the help, I'm going to try lube and see what happens, I am running hub rings and I'm taking it to a shop on Sunday. I'll keep you guys posted

@Nix @webby update guys, I took it to the shop my friend works at, they took a look at it on the lift and test drove it, the mechanic told me it could be one of two things. The bearings or the brake assembly. He said it's more than likely something with my brake assembly. I'm taking it back on Thursday when the managers not there and he's going to go head and take apart the break assembly and see if any things sticking or rubbing. I'll keep you posted so you guys can know, just in case someone on here ever has the same issue.

My rear shocks are blown, which was expected due to my suspension work, Konis maybe coming soon lol

The yellows are a bolt in rear. Super nice so you can turn up the stiffness. A good thing on these cars. Soft front, stiff rear, helps the car rotate and fight the understeer. You do need to reuse the stock dust covers and top mounting hardware.

I was made aware and was told if I send someone my front ones they'll modify them and they'll be ready to just throw on once received.
