Thank you. Unfortunately, after having done so much to it already, updates will be few and far between. Next spring and summer will just be wheels/tires and clutch/flywheel. I will probably get around to finishing the retrofit as well.

245/40 might be available.
The 235/40 is hard to find in many tire brands. And 235/45 is a size that normally goes on a TL which is a larger tire diameter than stock. There will be rubbing and inaccurate speedometer reading.

I know the spedometer will be a little off, but a 245 seems like it would be a bit too wide for an 8" wide wheel.

Disregard the arrow. This chart is for 17" x 7"' tires but it shows how much your speedometer will be off.

Hey Dar... just curious because that's a difference between stock and I can't see anything abnormal in the looks. Don't they stick out at all? How's the difference in the driving? What brand you end up choosing? Have a good day Dar and speak soon.It's doable. The tires aren't pinched. Here is what a set of 245/40/17 Toyo RA01 looks like on 17x8 RPF1s.

I am only dropped on H&R, so I don't think rubbing will be an issue either.

The setup is just wider tires/wheels for an improvement in acceleration/braking/handling. It really just depends on the wheel offset for the setup to stick out. I still am planning on getting Michelin Super Sports in 245/40/17 with 17x8 light weight wheels. I still have a lot of time to think about the offset or even the wheel brand (Enkei GTC01 is my top choice right now) since I will be making a purchase by the end of April or May.
This is what the Super Sports look like on a 17x8 OZ Racing Alleggerita.

Alright, I am sold. That doesn't look bad at all. 17x8 with a 245/40/17 it will be.
