Since you do not have the Civic with Premium Audio, you can by an aftermarket amp that accepts high-level speaker inputs (most do), or buy a line-out converter which converts the high-level speaker outputs to low-level pre-amp outputs for any amp. You can find wiring diagrams on this site for the non-premium head unit. Run the speaker outputs into the amp and install new speakers and sub.

you can install your switch by removing the space you want to put it in and drilling out a hole for it than you want to connect your power line to your remote turn on cable so when you turn the key it powers on and you want to connect your acc to your amp so you can power it when you turn it on/off and lastly connect the ground wire and your done.

I'm having issues with my sub. I have a 2014 Si. The installer tapped into the sub line at the rear sub in the trunk with an LOC. I'm noticing that my sub doesn't hit low, or very high, and I'm pretty sure it is because of the stock amp's cut offs on frequencies.

What if I want to tap before the stock amp, what would I need to do, this would avoid the sub not banging low or high because of the built in cut offs....

You have to have an amp that accepts balanced differential inputs otherwise you can't. Imo its easier to swap the head unit. You're right though. Its the factory amp and its crossovers preventing that.
